About our Program
Treatment takes place in a group setting, segregated to same-sex.  Each group meets once a week for 1½ hours.  Groups are led by a counselor who meets Washington State requirements of Licensing and is specially trained to address all aspects of Anger and Domestic Violence.

Referring agencies will be notified of client progress on a monthly basis, if no immediacy exists.  Violations and Terminations will be reported immediately.  Notifications will include attendance, compliance, and referral recommendations.

PHILOSOPHY OF BATTERER’S TREATMENT
1. Violence is a learned behavior.  It has rewards and consequences.
2. Violence can be passed on from generation to generation.
3. Violence is reinforced by our society.  Violence can be unlearned.
4. There are alternative ways to be express feelings.
5. You are responsible for your own actions.
6. Provocation does not justify violence.
7. You are 100% responsible for your behavior in a relationship.
8. The only person you can control is yourself.

PROGRAM GOALS
1. Take full responsibility for your behavior
2. Understand that abusive behavior is a choice and that you can choose alternative actions, regardless of how you are feeling
3. Utilize new ways of coping and communicating within your relationships
4. Learn to respect the opinions and wishes of others, especially family members
5. Understand the effects your abusive actions have on your partner and children
6. Identify and alter the attitudes that led to abusive behavior
